Worship A Way of Life

Worship is a hot topic these days, with people always grumbling and complaining about the style and it is either too hard or too soft, whether we should be more traditional or contemporary and so on.  But there is so much more to worship than the songs we sing. Worship is supposed to be a way of life and not limited to Sunday mornings or big events where the emotions flow and we are so easily caught up in the moment, singing and dancing while worshiping with an intensity that you quite possibly did not know was inside of you. But the problem is not there it is when we leave and go home Back to work, school, play … it is them that we often try to put God out of the picture and ignore him, shutting down thoughts about what He did classifying them as distractions.  We all do this I know I do and that is where we have to work The bible tells us to “do all things without grumbling or complaining” I know I don’t always succeed at this but when I do it is because I am doing whatever with worship on my mind. We find throughout the bible examples of worshipping through work or song through whatever one may be doing, David would sing and play his harp while tending his sheep, While this is still worship through song I guess that he was also worshipping God while he led the flocks to the pasture or fought the lion, my point is worship and God were a constant in David’s thinking at this time.  And his worshiping during his daily duties was as much worship as what he may have done in times set aside for worship.  Psalms 89:17 says “For You are the glory of their Strength, and by Your favor our horn is exalted” So it is through our strength that God is exalted. Thus it would seem that when we use our strength-abilities which God has given us, with Him in mind that, is a form of worship.  Webster’s Dictionary defines worship as “Intense love and passion” I think that “Intense love and passion would dictate something more than singing a few songs a week, I think that Dictates A whole new way of life where God is the focus of all we think, hear, say, and do. That is where worship becomes a way of life.  Where we worship passionately and live worshiping we glorify God in all we do.
